About ZBW

OLEcon is an initiative of the ZBW – Leibniz Information Centre for Economics. The ZBW is the world’s largest information infrastructure for economics literature with a national mandate. The ZBW is a research-based academic library. It is affiliated with Kiel University. It is a foundation under public law and a member of the Leibniz Association.

The ZBW engages in many ways for Open Access transformation. One of these ways is the funding of non-commercial Open Access journals with OLEcon.

The ZBW has many years of experience with publishing infrastructures and scholarly journals. It operates the Open Access publication platform EconStor. It edits the Open Access journals Wirtschaftsdienst, JCRE and, in cooperation with the Centre for European Policy Studies, Intereconomics.

Cooperation partners

For hosting OLEcon-funded journals we cooperate with the publishing platform TIB Open Publishing. TIB Open Publishing is a service of the TIB – Leibniz Information Centre for Science and Technology. The innovative publishing service TIB Open Publishing organises the entire publishing process from article submission to publication with the Open Source software Open Journals System (OJS). Besides journal hosting, TIB Open Publishing offers services similar to those of a commercial publisher. These include semi-automatic article production with a template, plagiarism detection software, support for indexation, DOI registration, and registration or transfer of an eISSN.
